About the Bering Omega Community Services Dental Clinic:

Bering Omega Community Services Oral Health Clinic was founded in August 1987 by Dr. Sam Adams (deceased), Dr. Edwin Cordray, Dr. Mark Nichols, Dr. Michael Sell, Bruce Smith, and Dr. Tim Hastings (deceased). These dentists and others volunteered time and medical expertise to assist patients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS who had been turned away by dental practices that were unwilling or unsure of how to treat them. The current Bering Omega dental team, led by Dr. Mark Nichols, employs medical protocols that treat the oral manifestations of HIV/AIDS, such as severe oral ulcerations, oral Kaposi’s sarcoma lesions and Human Papilloma viral infections (HPV). The clinic, based in Montrose, serves thousands of clients per year.

Bering Omega endeavors to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of clients and patients through its Network of Care, and focuses on four core programs: oral health care, residential hospice, day treatment, and housing.
Bering Omega is a recognized international model for helping people affected by HIV/AIDS.
